Brittany oak flooring is definitely one of the most beautiful and contemporary forms of hardwood flooring. French oak hardwood floors are extremely popular among homeowners and Brittany oak is the smoked and wirebrushed form of French oak. It is ideal for kitchens, living rooms, staircases, bedrooms and living rooms. The perfect finish, the polished glaze and elegance all add a classic look to all your rooms. Mostly available in 8-inch wide planks with ¾-inch thickness, the dark chocolate color of Brittany oak flooring is certainly a sight to behold. It has become a common fixture in many residential buildings.

Brittany oak is good for the patio and balconies too and you don’t have to worry about the floors losing its beautiful chocolate color. Each of the planks is polished with UV coated aluminum oxide, so the sun cannot do much damage on them. The planks are extremely durable and have scratch resistant properties.
Installing Brittany oak on the floors is also very simple; all you have to do is nail them down or glue them on top of the existing floor. You can do it yourself too. The superior quality with which they are made makes them last for more than 50 years; you even get a warranty for that.

If your home has rooms in different levels then you can add in different accessories so the laying of the planks will be made with perfect finish. A Reducer will allow you to place the planks in such a way that the transition from one level to another is made simple. You can buy a Stair Nosing so the edges on the stairs are covered; it will be perfect when you have kids crawling up and down the stairs. The Nosing is available in different sizes. You can install a Shoe Molding to trim the edges along the walls, sides of staircases, fireplaces, cupboards and cabinets. To make it look as if the hardwood is laid in perfect harmony, you can subtly put in a T-Mold. You will not notice the difference when you move from one room to another, especially if they are at same levels. You can add in a Threshold to smooth the transition from hardwood to carpeted areas.
